Inaugural Post
We've done it. We have successfully launched a new technology and consulting company with our first SaaS product offering going live in the coming weeks. It has been a lot of hard work and effort to get to this point but what should be a commemorative and joyous time for our fledgling company is overshadowed by the state of the world today.
We have been so heads down focused on launch, I wanted to take this brief opportunity of reprieve to, instead of celebrate, reassess our corporate responsibilities and purpose. The inequality and disparity around us makes it an imperative that companies focus further than the share holder. I have long believed in a more responsible corporate model where all stakeholders are cared for and in the appropriate order. We at Tamaton think of the following as our stakeholders and prioritize their well being in this order:
Our goal from the outset has always been pretty simple: to make technology easier to use, putting it in the hands of more people. The world we live in today has stretched the limits of the haves and have nots to untenable levels. Recent events have only accelerated that inequality.
I believe our purpose was always closely aligned to fixing that inequality but with all that has happened in the last few months, I feel that I must reinforce and strengthen our mission. Instead of simply focusing on making technology simple, we must also strive to get it into the hands of as many people as possible.
We want to ensure that the digital revolution doesn't equate to further economic disparity. To that end, we will always offer free tiers of our SaaS products designed for education and small businesses. Furthermore, our mission will now include outreach and technical education initiatives for poor and underprivileged communities. We believe education and access to technology will help close the growing inequality in our world and that is our revised mission plan.
With our mission reaffirmed and more tangible than ever, we are moving to create our own ESG reporting that we will keep update-to-date online to show our progress. We will target these key ESG goals:
